Bringing the Desert to LA

I’m a sucker for anything unique and eclectic, so why would my yard be any different? While I was picking out flowers for the front yard, I strayed from the usual-you see that in every yard- flower and tried to pick a few flowers that were spunky, fun, and added a little character of their own.

But I didn’t only pick out flowers for the yard…I also purchased a few succulents.  Incase you’re thinking to yourself “What the heck is a succulent?”, I like to call it my little cactus plant.  But did I buy just one succulent? On no, I had to buy four! Just wait until you see the pictures, and you’ll see how cute they are! (And trust me, they are even more precious in person!)

So the next thing you’re probably thinking to yourself is “You live in Louisiana–it rains all the time–how can you possibly plant cacti?” My response: My dad.  Incase you haven’t caught on from previous posts, my parents are the absolute biggest blessings and literally bend over backwards to help anyway possible.  Since I had no place in my yard fixed for succulents, my mother’s quick response was “Your dad and I will come over this week and fix an area in the yard.” So of course, I quickly picked them out and rushed home to decide where the perfect place would be!

Thank goodness for Daddy’s & their ability to do just about anything!! Making a perfect area for the succulents was so much easier with his help!

And now, the finished product!

Aren’t they just adorable?! They can literally fit in the palm of your hand…for now.  They won’t be this little forever, and do not be deceived—they may be little and cute, but they WILL stick you and no, it doesn’t feel too good! So the next time you’re feeling the urge to head out west to the desert, just come on over & enjoy our little Louisiana desert!

Love Always — LC
